134 Collaborative Hero Video
Producing this Hero Video with the help of my niece Kaitlyn was an eye opening and deeply rewarding experience for me. We worked closely with the Executive Director Karen Gager to capture the unique story of 134 Collaborative and how it empowers nonprofits that might not otherwise be able to effectively further their missions.
Providence, RI is a deeply troubled town as anyone who's visited or lived there can attest. Sadly, crime and drugs are rampant just about anywhere you look in the city. Despite all that, 134 Collaborative stands as a beacon of hope amidst the chaos. I saw so much pain during my two day stay in Providence and yet, the people at 134 Collaborative strive to heal their people with smiles on their faces.
My favorite shot of this entire production was of the man smiling washing dishes. You wouldn’t know it from simply watching the video but this man was deaf and could not speak. Despite all the adversity a condition like that may create, there he was volunteering for his community and lifting the kitchen’s spirits. It was a truly inspiring experience for me and a reminder of why I love working with nonprofits so much.
Thank you to everyone who made this video possible and if you have the ability, please go and support 134 Collaborative.
